It's the very heart of Russia and you can hear the beating of its heart!
Stretching along the Kremlin walls Red Square is the square N 1 in the country and the capital. The place is the witness of many historical events in the past, the place where Russians usually celebrate national holidays and watch magnificent military parades.
The name 'Red Square' has nothing to do with Communism or the Bolshevik Revolution. The square acquired its present name in the 17c. when the word 'red' meant 'beautiful' just to reflect its beauty.
